Indecency Arrest For Racer Doug Henry

Doug Henry

FARMINGTON, CT – Motorcycle Hall of Famer, three-time AMA Motocross national champion and Torrington, CT resident Doug Henry was arrested this afternoon for allegedly exposing his penis to two female workers at a construction site on Route 4 here, Farmington police reported in an arrest log posted on the department’s website.

Henry, 45, was charged with public indecency. He wasreleased on a $2,500 bond and is due to appear in court on May 26.

Arresting officer Alex Jones’ report stated that Henry was stopped in Harwinton and interviewed. “He admitted to the act and was issued a misdemeanor summons,” the report said.

Henry, who is partially paralyzed from the waist down, was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in Pickerington, OH in 2005. A Wikipedia profile about the motocross legend states that “Henry is a fan-favorite in the sport for his guts and determination as well as his never-say-die attitude while making comebacks from potentially career-ending injuries.”

In 1995, he broke his back in a crash in Maryland. In March 2007, while preparing for a race in Daytona, FL, he hit an oil patch and crashed, resulting in another broken back that left him paralyzed. Despite the loss of the use of his legs, he returned to riding on a modified bike that featured a roll cage.

In November 2010, his home in Torrington burned to the ground.

  1. One of my all time favorites.Always has been and always will be. I am sure there is more to the story than is coming out at this point. His history speaks for its self.

    To Al G……..

    Well said. Agreed.

  3. He’s just accused, not guilty of anything. He’s entitled to Due Process, Presumption of Innocence until proven guilty in a court of law. just like everyone else. Don’t know what happened or not or what exactly was said or not, but I can say the media has a track record of sensationalizing things to sell their news. I hate to speculate but there are many logical explanations where things could have been misinterpreted. But then again, he’s a motorcyclists so that’s one strike against him in many political circles already. He’ll find out who his real friends are now. What stinks is that he has to sit back and take the media storm, likely told by his attorney not to comment. Also, many people take a deal in court, even when innocent, when they can’t afford the overwhelming financial costs associated with a prolonged legal defense. I don’t think there is any debate that this guy has gone through Hell and back more than once and survived, hope everything works out this time around too.
