Harley-Davidson Recalls 185,272 Bikes

Harley-Davidson is recalling 185,272 motorcycles from the 2014 and 2015 model years to replace saddlebag mounting receptacles 2015 Road Glide Specialthat “may not adequately secure the saddlebags to the motorcycle” – meaning the bags could fall off while riding.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that Harley-Davidson will notify owners and dealers will replace the receptacles with updated ones free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on Monday.

Among the models affected from 2014 and 2015 are:- Road King (FLHR)

– Street Glide (FLHX)

– Street Glide Special (FLHXS)

– Electra Glide Ultra Classic (FLHTCU)

– Ultra Limited (FLHTK)

– Police Road King (FLHP)

– Police Electra Glide (FLHTP)

– CVO Ultra Limited (FLHTKSE)

From 2014:

– CVO Road King (FLHRSE)

And from 2015:

– Electra Glide Ultra Classic Low (FLHTCUL)

– Ultra Limited Low (FLHTKL)

– Road Glide (FLTRX)

– Road Glide Special (FLTRXS)

– CVO Street Glide (FLHXSE)

– CVO Street Glide Ultra (FLTRUSE)

Motorcycles produced by Harley-Davidson starting on May 26, 2015 were built with the new mounting receptacle.
