DMV Service In CT To Be Limited Aug. 11-15

WETHERSFIELD, CT – Department of Motor Vehicles offices across Connecticut will be closed except for license services Aug. 11-15 to facilitate a computer upgrade. DMV offices will fully reopen on Aug. 18.

Because of the partial shutdown, DMV is extending the deadlines for vehicle registrations, driver’s licenses and ID cards that are set to expire on or after Aug. 11. Renewals can now be done without a late fee until Oct. 15.

The purpose of the computer upgrade is to offer state residents more online services. Between Aug. 11-15, driver’s license services will continue at DMV and AAA offices. Appointments for license and road tests will go on as scheduled.
