Great Bay Motorcycles Closes In NH

Great Bay building_teaserNORTH HAMPTON, NH – Great Bay Motorcycles has closed after 16 years. A short message on the Home page of the dealership’s website thanks “all of our customers over the years,” while the websites of Ducati, Triumph and Zero, which Great Bay carried, no longer list the store as selling their motorcycles.

An email attempt to find out more and sent through the website to Great Bay owner and president Don Jeka received an automated confirmation of receipt, while an attempt to leave a phone message at the dealership was unsuccessful as the mailbox was full.

However, Triumph’s New England Region Manager, Jeff Rose, confirmed, “Great Bay has gone out of business.” He added that Jeka “would prefer to move on from this venture as smoothly and quietly as possible as he pursues a new opportunity outside the industry.”

On a personal note, Rose said, “I’ve known Don for 16 years, purchased my first bike from him and it’s hard to see this happen.”

The absence of Great Bay Motorcycles means that New England is now without a Zero dealer. Zero builds electric bikes.

Great Bay’s website notes “personal attention is making a difference,” adding that “last year we ranked number two for Triumph sales in the northeast and number five for Ducati. We received our eighth Top 100 Award, placing us among the best powersports dealerships in the country. More importantly, our customer satisfaction ranking for 2010 was number two in the U.S. among all Triumph dealers.”

Great Bay’s Facebook page makes no mention of its status; the last post there was on Dec. 4. The dealership’s last Tweet was on Sept. 27.
