SANTA MONICA, CA – A shrinking list of cities will participate in the 36th annual Progressive International Motorcycle Shows (IMS) tour for 2016-17.

There will only be seven stops. That’s down from 11 cities visited in 2015-2016.

The New York dates will be Dec. 9-11 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Missing from the list are Portland, OR; Sacramento, CA; Miami Beach, FL; Philadelphia (Fort Washington, PA) and Phoenix (Glendale, AZ). Added is Washington, D.C.

The IMS tour will begin on Nov. 18 in Long Beach, CA and end in Chicago on Feb. 12. Last year’s tour ran from Oct. 30 through Feb. 21.

A press release reports, “The upcoming tour will have an increased focus on motorcycle manufacturers to create an engaging show experience for a wide audience of enthusiasts across the country.”

The release also notes, “Seven key U.S. markets were selected in partnership with key OEM and sponsor brands to attract the largest number of powersports enthusiasts, emerging new riders, and the highly desirable under 35-year-old audience.”
