Connecticut Getting Indian Dealer

Brookfield Indian

BROOKFIELD, CT – The state is getting its first Indian dealer. Indian’s website doesn’t yet list Brookfield Indian Motorcycle, but the under-construction dealership at 20 Federal Road quietly launched a Facebook page last month declaring that it’s “opening this summer.” The initial public clue of the coming Indian store may have been on July 5 when a job posting went up on Craigslist seeking a parts and service advisor for “a premium motorcycle dealership.” Among the qualifications sought were “meaningful American V-Twin experience.”

Four days later, the first Facebook post stealthily appeared in the form of a dealership logo. Since then, there have been nearly 20 additional posts, many containing pictures of construction – but few details. However, one picture shows a “Indian and Victory Brookfield Indian Motorcycle - logoMotorcycles Owners’ Room,” suggesting the dealership will also sell Polaris’s other motorcycle brand.

The Facebook page does not reveal the identity of the owner, but in answer to a question from a Facebook reader, the dealership said it will be “independent” from Indian Motorcycle of Springfield in Westfield, MA.

Brookfield Indian Motorcycle will be the third Indian dealer in New England, joining Indian Motorcycle of Springfield and Wagner Indian Motorcycle of Central Massachusetts in Worcester, MA.

An online search revealed that the 20 Federal Road location was formerly The Dining Furniture Showroom. A real estate listing from earlier this year reports that the building was constructed in 1998 and has 9,000 square feet.

RIDE-CT & RIDE-NewEngland has emailed Brookfield Indian Motorcycle seeking more info and will pass along the results.
