RIDE-CT.com would never try to compete with Craigslist, but occasionally an “available” bike comes along that warrants mention. Larry Maye of Southbury emailed me back in early August about a 1973 Harley-Davidson Z90 that he owns. “Garaged for 36 years,” he proclaimed. “All original, looks great, no rust, paint not faded, no alterations.” A few days ago, he sent along some pictures.
The Z90 has only 1,850 miles on the odometer but it is “caught in a gear, so I can’t free the wheel,” reported Maye, who hopes the bike might be of interest to a collector. I looked on NADA’s website. The book value for a Z90 of that year ranges from $500 in “poor” shape to $2,100 in “excellent” condition. (“Very good” is $1,575, “good” is $825 and “fair” is $750.)
